CHICKEN LO MEIN
Tender chicken, stir-fried noodles and fresh vegetables tossed together in a savory soy-based sauce for a rich, comforting Chinese-American classic.
From Chinese Noodles to an American Takeout Staple
The name Lo Mein comes from the Cantonese term lou mein (撈麵), referring to noodles that are tossed or mixed with other ingredients and sauce.
The dish traces its roots to the noodle traditions of southern China, particularly Cantonese cooking. Rather than being defined by one exact recipe, lo mein traditionally describes the technique of combining cooked wheat noodles with meats, vegetables and flavorful sauces.
As Chinese immigrants established restaurants throughout the United States, lo mein evolved to suit American tastes and the fast-paced style of Chinese takeout. The American version typically features soft, chewy noodles wok-tossed with vegetables, protein and a savory sauce.
Our Chicken Lo Mein celebrates that Chinese-American tradition with tender chicken, noodles and crisp vegetables wok-tossed together for the familiar savory, satisfying flavor of classic New York Chinese takeout.
